Khao Sok National Park is situated in South of Thailand just below the Isthmus of Kra-the narrowest neck of the Malay peninsula.

The best time to visit Khao Sok National Park is really determined by the type of experience one is looking for. The dry season (December to May) is frequently cited as the best time to go as it is unlikely you will experience much rain at this time of year. The trails are dry, there are far fewer leeches and the river levels are at their lowest making river crossings much easier and camping along riverbanks all the more pleasant.

Many long time residents and repeat visitors to Khao Sok National Park actually prefer the wet season (June to November). After all, what better way to see the rainforest than in the rain. This is the dynamic season when tropical storms dump huge volumes of water in short periods.

This is the season when the wild elephants and tiger return from the lake shore to frequent the main trail system of the Sok River watershed. It is also the fruiting season when the orchards in the Khao Sok community are heavy with delicious tropical fruits: rambutan, longon, durian and Others. It is possible during the rainy season to see park wildlife like Malay and Asiatic black bear, civets, slow loris, wild boar and deer come into the plantations to gorge on the bounty of fruit.

For the first time visitor, do not let any season deter you as each has its special features. Khao Sok National Park can cast its spell in any weather and at anytime of year.
